THE STORY

Head in Epicurus explores the philosophy of pleasure, perception, and the search for meaning through a surreal, dreamlike composition. At the center is a fragmented female figure, her face divided into geometric planes that suggest both vulnerability and strength, as though she embodies the fractured yet evolving human spirit.

Surrounding her are fantastical elements: wide-eyed creatures, tentacles curling with both menace and curiosity, crystalline landscapes, and dripping organic forms that blur the boundaries between reality and imagination. The title references Epicurus, the ancient philosopher who taught that true happiness comes not from indulgence but from simplicity, reflection, and inner peace.

The painting becomes a visual dialogue between excess and restraint, chaos and harmony. With its vibrant palette and layered symbolism, Head in Epicurus invites viewers to reflect on their own definitions of joy, fulfillment, and the delicate balance between desire and wisdom.
